The second annual “Meals On Heels, Hair & Fashion Show” held on Sunday Feb. 10th at the Upper East Side eponymous salon of the dashingly handsome and multi-talented NYC celebrity hair stylist and makeup artist MARK DeALWIS.
The packed event was graciously produced by Mr. DeAlwis who along with his partner, celebrity photographer BILLY HESS for years have been on the forefront as one of New York’s pre-eminent fundraising teams. Together they enchantingly meld their brilliant talent and unpretentious connections, all for a good cause.
Moreover, the evenings event was artfully supported by Mr. DeAlwis’ entire glamorous salon team. For his entire company showcased their amazing hair designs on models adorning A-list clothes designs from several the worlds most recognized fashion designers.
The star studded occasion and red carpet was hosted by none other than a man who should never be underestimated as he is one of those rare multi-talented, diversified, hard working performers. NYC’s very own, TYM MOSS verbally and eloquently escorted us through the evenings event most pleasurably and guilefully.
His incredible talent, affable persona, charming character and graceful range, made an otherwise gleefully crowded hectic and energized evening feel like a welcoming fireside chat.
The evenings line up included stellar performances by:
Hip-Hop mogul & legendary VJ of “Yo MTV Raps” DOCTOR DRE.
Dr. Dre was in the house!
New York City icon & bon vivant MICHAEL MUSTO, razzle dazzled the audience as he blissfully belted his accompaniments to a number of the evenings artists.
SCREAMING RACHEL, The Legendary “Queen of House Music” sang her new hit single “I am House”.
Billboard Top 10 award winning recording artist ARI GOLD who has been featured numerous times on VH-1, MTV, BBC, Top Of The Pops, Bravo and LOGO captured the audience like he always does.
The ever lovely DOROTHY BISHOP stunningly impersonated a number of A-list divas such as Barbra Streisand and Lady Gaga. Dorothy always leaves her audiences wanting more.
The surprise guest star of the evening was funny man IKE AVELLI who had the audience in stitches with his comedic musical montage culminating with his ever popular Prince impersonation. There howl of laughter in the room was nothing less than deafening.
Completing the evenings line up was the very beautiful and talented NY singer/song writer and Broadway actress BROOKE MORIBER who sang her hit song ‘ Cry Like A Girl” from her debut album. The audience was like putty in the hands of singer-song writer COBY KOEHL who with his soft jazz vocals, stunningly delivered his original song “All I Want”. Performing artist MARYANNE PICCOLO (“Night of a 1000 Stevie’s”) sang a Stevie Nicks tribute. And Albanian recording artist MIRUD chanted his new top ten hit “Ende Te Dua”.
The phenomenally talented celebrity chef STEPHEN DANIELLO appeared in person and surprised the entire audience with a number of his delectable hand made hors d’oeuvres creations! One simply can not be in the same room with chef DANIELLO without gaining five pounds!
While all this was under way, internationally known painter & artist OLGA PERRY adroitly added to this all encompassing evening as she displayed a number of her beguiling oil portraits of the headliners.
Exquisite fashion; trendsetting hairs designs and futuristic makeup creations adorned every handsome and beautiful model as they glided down the runway, easily lent for an evening one shall remember for quite some time. And all this craftfully kept together by the music & sound delightful delivered by the popular DJ IAN FORD. Nobodys timing and delivery compares to DJ IAN, for he is in a class all by himself!
All the proceeds of Sundays event were donated to City Meals on Wheels (citymeals.org) which provides nourishing meals to New York City’s home bound elderly.
